Excel document w/Senator & Representative's email addresses
Click on resource link below to view, download and save an Excel document worksheet containing your state senator & Representative's email addresses for the Special Session. Please email the state senator and representative who is elected to speak for you. Our legislators are trying to pass laws which will cut preK-12 and higher education student values, school district budgets, college and university budgets, and public education spending. 1. Tell them you will not stand for more student value cuts.
2. Tell them if they need to cut something in the budget, they should roll back the tax cuts they gave the richest New Mexicans in 2003, and close corporate tax loopholes which allow out-of-state corporations like Wal Mart, Target, Lowe’s and Starbucks to escape paying income taxes on profits earned in New Mexico when we buy their stuff.
3. Tell them to use that money to balance the budget deficit.
4. Tell them, “Don’t balance the budget on the backs of school children, university and college students.”
